Weeelies are a pair of manually controlled shoes that transform to enable electronic, omni-directional movement while maintaining durability. Designed to carry a 200 lb person, they were designed to accelerate to 3 mph in 3 seconds, decelerate within the same time, and operate for up to 20 minutes at top speed. A key feature of this project is the in-house fabrication of the omni-directional wheels—each wheel was precision-manufactured using lathe and CNC machines, including custom wheel flanges and eight rollers per wheel. This hands-on manufacturing process ensured full control over the design, quality, and performance of the system.
